Diamond D - Bad/Good
D-Squizzy drops a clip for his "Huge Hefner Chronicles' release on "BabyGrande".
Classic NYC footy see's this "D.I.T.C." Bronx legend flex over a jazzy instrumental.

Kings Way: Melbourne graffiti 1983-93
Published by Melbourne University, this amazing hardback book examines the first decade of "Graff" nurtured by a group of underground "writers" on the walls & trains of the city that lies amongst the "Yarra". Documenting the dedication, "Kings Way" showcases a variety of styles from raw bombing to complex murals executed by a pioneering youth culture amongst football & trams. Peiced together by some of the "Burns" most respected "painters", the book also pays homage to the forgotten (& fondly revered) names & crews who once held the city to an ink stained ransom against it's bricks & "Hitachis".
A real treat for those who witnessed the era, or for those that need an education on history - Kings Way will be in all fine stores within the coming months!

Flix from Clash of the Titans
Great night, great turnout. Im not sure if these were all taken by myself or not, some may be by Kowhai...cheers for that.
Fuck all pics of the actual artwork sorry. I think alot of it sold.
I showed my support by getting pissed at the launch and buying a t-shirt. Judging by the flix I wasn't alone in that notion.
Big up to Lrock, Russ, and ball jugglers for putting it on.

New Capone-n-Noreaga
I just heard this track five minutes ago (or probably more like an hour by the time i finish typeing this post) and thought it more than worthy of a rundown. CNN hook back up with Preemo and the result is absolute fire!
Taken from the recently released album 'Chanel 10', the album as whole has been recieving rather mixed reviews. While admittedly not being not being the biggest CNN fan myself, i do have a strong appreciation of thier Tragedy Khadafi helmed debut 'The War Report'. Considerd by most to be a classic debut.
Forever residing in the shadows of QB heavy weights like Nas and Mobb Deep, on this CNN have stepped up to the plate and smashed it out the park (a cliched phrase i know). Now as long as Capone can stay out of jail and NORE can steer clear of any more garbage reggaeton records we might just have something to look forward to, as long as this standard is maintained.
On a side note, how about a B-side remix featuring Teflon and Blaq Poet? Certainly wouldn't sound out of place.

Style Flip
Some may find this a little cheesy but I stumbled over this website through a production forum and thought it was worthy of the rundown.
The sites called Style Flip. They produce customizable adhesive skins from thin durable plastic to cover your CDJ’s, Turntables, Samples, the list goes on.
Apparently the skins are easily applied & removed from your gear. 100% Satisfaction Guarantee or money back yada-yada.
Here's the Akai range you can trick...
http://www.styleflip.com/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=6
It gives you the option of uploading your own image for the background, custom text information for your unit and heaps of other shit.
Customising an MPC 2000...
http://www.styleflip.com/index.php?main_page=flash_designer&cPath=1_16_18&products_id=75&face_id=1
For the price, its worth a look. Personally I couldn’t give a shit if my MPC 2000 looks original or not, so I’m going to give it a crack.

The n@#%a ya love to hate.
Just a quick one this evening because i'm hung-over as shit.
Chuck D once said that Ice Cube is one of rap's greatest lyricists, and at that point in time who would've doubted him. This clip is taken from a dutch television show in 1991 and features the only footage i've ever seen of "Its a mans world", his duet with Yo-Yo off the absolute classic Amerikkka's Most Wanted.
He also performs "Once upon a time in the projects" and is quizzed by the interviewer on his politics, the relevance of his music in other cultures, and of course, bitches and hoes.
A fantastic glimpse at the early days of someone who would go on to be one of the most out-spoken and iconic figures hip-hop has ever seen.

The Mural Kings
With Run Royal supporting independent designers and labels from here and overseas, I thought it would be fitting to give some background on these over the next few months.
One of the independents is the TATS crew. Based in The Bronx, New York, spanning over 25 years, founded by 3 mates...Bio, Nicer and BG183, the crew have undoubtedly changed the shape of graffiti and the publics opinion from “those dirty taggers!!” to “oh, that’s nice!. That’s not graffiti” with their x-large murals in NYC’s mains, yet still leaving a foot in all other aspects of the game. Most notably, born in Spain, raised in Germany and now residing in New York are twins How and Nosm who went on a worldwide rampage in the mid-late 90’s crushing anything in their way, from brick, train to main, then bringing it out on VHS under the title not guilty.
TATS have hustled the hip-hop game with numerous marketing campaigns for some good artists and some fucking shit ones. Shit one’s being the type that get some bigwig smoker to front some cash to get Sen2 to do a fuck off size mural in the BX to gain a bit of street credit for Nelly or someone of that calibre. You cant knock a hustle. I should give mention to(back in the style wars days)a rather skinny writer representing Dez or better know now as DJ Kayslay who is also a member of TATS, along with as Fat Joe aka Joey Crack...Who has gone on to make smash hits for your fucking 13 year old cousin. Cant knock a hustle?
Anyway. Enough dribble, they have put together some good clothing so heres some pics along with some links and vids..

Ev and Al: Faggots?
Is it just me or does this video play out like some sort of bizarre homo-erotic love in between the chemist and the weatherman. Honestly, i was waiting for Ev and Al to embrace and watch the sun go down over Venice Beach. Maybe they were just hanging out, waiting for the good ship lollypop to dock along the Cali seabord so the could hop on like all good semen...er, um... I mean sea-men do. Or maybe they were just skating that big half-pipe of rainbow coloured dreams all the way to San-Francisco.
You be the judge.

Eric & Parrish Makin' Duds
After the relative dissapointment that was the latest EPMD album, We Mean Business, (given todays current climate it might have been better named Business Is A Bit Slow} i thought it no better time to cast our minds back to the earlier career of one raps most storied and esteemed duo's. Before thier initial break-up in '93 they put out four classic records in quick succession. 88's Strictly Business, 89's Unfinished Business, 90's Business As Usual and 92's Business Never Personal. Reppin' Long Island they maintained a distinctive sample heavy sound that stood out amongst many of raps more abrasive and popular groups during that era (Public Enemy, NWA etc). With laid back drawl like flows, they spat some of raps most quotable moments. Braggin' about bozacks, sucker mc's or just tryin to work out what Jane is, or is doing, at this time they were always on point. Lets not forget they also launched the careers of Redman and Das-EFX. The following is one video from each of the above mentioned albums..... Check the rampage video, some dude pretending to be LL. One of the greatest songs ever, in my opinion. Chiiiill!

Tweedy Bird Loc- A tribute to gansta raps most underated.
What do you get when you take the absolute worst aspects and cliches of 'gansta rap' culture and roll them into one frankenstein like human being? The answer, Tweedy Bird Loc. Quite possibly the most offensive (and entertaining) MCs to ever curse on a beat, tweedy at one time was a compton crip loosely affiliated with Easy-E. Long story short, there isn't too much Tweedy hasn't had a problem with; Female mc's (in particular Queen Latifah), The Bronx (Tim Dog, KRS etc.), Miami (2 live crew, Luke), anti-violence songs, NWA,and white women in general. He put two albums out in the early nineties dealing for the most part in the affore mentioned topics at nausium. He also helmed the abominably shit Bloods and Crips collabo album 'Bangin on wax' which would go onto sell more than a million copies. Anyway, to rap this post up i'll leave you with the poignant, timeless words of our subject: "Bitch you can suck my muthafuckin dick"...... It don't get much better than that!

Roc Marciano of The U.N.
Roc Marcy has been around for a minute or two now, appearing most recently on the awesome P Brothers' album 'The Gas'. I found this on YouTube and thought it worthy of The Royal Rundown. Roc Marcy performing 'snow' live in L.A.
