MonoGramAdikt

MonoGramAdikt was launched in 2005 as a means to fund the production costs of creating digital music. The idea was to sell a few t-shirts to make the cash to buy a Midi Controller. So, based on 20+ years of expierience as a practioner of aerosol art & wildstyle lettering design, a range of original stylized letters and fonts were developed. These were applied to t-shirts, hoods & hats ect, in an multitude of limited & unique colours. By the time the pencil sketches had evolved into digital designs, reincarnated onto silk screens and finally printed, it had became clear that the original concept had far more potential than just obtaining a cheap keyboard, but to generate the foundations for a whole creative enterprise. MonoGramAdikt was created for young urban sneaker obsessives , appreciators of intelligent design and your run of the mill city kids with an appetite for things new and cutting edge. More than 5 years later, the label continues to evolve and refine itself, and is set to keep growing as a strong and unique independent streetwear label.

Dont miss out on getting one of these unique and exclusive designs in a tee, hood or crewneck from one of Melbournes old school graff kings.

Crate Creeps / Crate Cartel - The Step In 21/08/10

What a top quality night of performances in Brisbane at The Step In on Saturday . The venue has sounded the best it ever has in my opinion.
Jake Biz and Bigfoot set it off performing tracks from Purgatory and Bigfoots upcoming release due to drop towards the end of the year.
Venue was pretty full by the time the Melbourne Mc's hit the stage. Maundz & The Crate Cartel showcasing their latest albums Mr Nobody and Crate Cartel Radio. If you missed the live show in your state then do yourself a favour and cop the albums on CD or itunes. Adelaide and Sydney people, Maundz is hittin your state early September. You don't want to miss this cunt, his flows and stage presence is second to none.
Tommy Ill and Butch daddy DJ Butcher followed with a now well marinated crowd, showcasing their new joints from the Crate Creeps - Its About That Time , with a swagger of guests doing the do. I think Kings Konnekted with Rezadent getting it in on The Terrorist Medley and Tommy's live beatbox sampling took the win for this set.
The following flicks are courtesy of Brisbane multimedia artist Selina Miles. Check her blog out HERE and peep the foot of the post for her latest works.
Unfortunately she missed the Jake and Foots set.
Cheers for the flix!

Nike Sportswear Presents 1Love

I know there's still one to go but I though Id share the first four episodes.

As part of the lead up to the World Basketball Festival, Nike Sportswear is connecting the Five Boroughs of New York City in a celebration of hoops, culture, and its iconic Air Force 1 sneaker. Nike Sportswear has chosen five ambassadors from each of the five boroughs to participate in 1LOVE, a program that includes a online documentary series, a basketball tournament, and a Manhattan block party takeover.

Brooklyn-raised rapper, songwriter and producer Theophilus London kicks it off, as the focus of the first 1LOVE episode, in which he gives a tour of the Brooklyn neighborhood he grew up in and uncovers what makes his borough unique.

Episode 2 features Harlem-raised rapper and XL Recordings artist Ms. Banks. In this new short-film, Miss Banks discusses the streets she grew up on and takes a close look at the original stomping ground that inspires and influences her.

Episode 3 features Cory Gunz, Bronx based rapper and Young Money Entertainment budding superstar, giving us a tour of NYC's northernmost borough, and according to Cory "The Birthplace of Hip Hop."

Episode 4 of 1LOVE takes you on a trip through Queens with FORMAT: a lifestyle and BMX shop owned by pro BMX rider Nigel Sylvester, along with friends Nigel Sparkes and Jason "Cheech" Hall.
